Adolescence can also be a time of worries, fears, and boundary pushing- hallmarks of the age- or of deeper concerns, experiences, and trauma. For teens, counseling can be a space to develop their voice and gain some perspective about who they are, what they need, and what they hope for in their life. Despite a growing want and need for independence, changes and transitions can be a challenge to navigate. Outside of friendships and family relationships, the relationship with a counselor can be a unique opportunity to explore patterns, behaviors, thoughts, feelings, hopes, frustrations, and the big feelings that teens carry.
